About Kabini
They sing at dawn, they sing at dusk, the day through they fly
and play. From the mighty tuskers to the mouse deer, Kabini is
home to many a variety of animals and birds though the elephants
outnumber them. Today there is a growing need to conserve
elephants. Did you know that the ecological impact of elephants
is priceless? They modify their habitat by converting savannah
and woodlands to grasslands. They can provide water for the
other species by digging water holes in dry riverbeds and the
depressions created by their footprints and their bodies trap
rainfall. The humane side of them see them cry, play, and laugh.
They have incredible memory too. Enjoy them at Kabini. Birds
flock here in large numbers. Drive through the tall trees and
rich vegetation casting an eye on the ponds and hillocks.
Everything is magical here, the winds, the waters, the sun and
the moon.
